Williams Automobiles 11th March 2022

24th March 2022

On a sunny spring morning a group of 16 members and guests driving a mixture of classic and modern cars gathered at the showrooms and workshops of this well established family company based at Horton by Old Sodbury common.

Third generation Richard Williams gave a very interesting illustrated talk on the history and growth of the company since 1904 and its ups and downs due to 2world  wars , economic changes  and both production and customer demand  changes during this time.  We were then shown round both the work shops where fourth generation Henrys race Caterham and other race cars are prepared , as well customer cars , mainly Morgans and Lotus are maintained.

After a truly enlightening and fascinating time we all adjourned to The Beaufort Arms in Hawkesbury Upton for lunch.
