The Summer Garden Soiree

06 July 2018

The annual Clifton Club Summer Garden Soiree will be bigger than ever this year! Join us on Friday 6th July in The Mall Gardens from 6.30pm for live music from Jazz and Swing band, The Hip Cats, drinks, canapes and BBQ treats before returning to The Club to continue the party into the evening. Members are welcome to bring guests and tickets are £47.50 per person, with a Summer Smart / Ready To Party dress code. We look forward to seeing you there! Champagne Tasting with Julian Lewis

Join Mr Julian Lewis of Bybo wines for an informal evening champagne tasting. Julian will be bringing a selection of Champagnes and Sparkling wines and talking through the various characteristics that define each wine. Arrival is for a 7pm start, Members and their guests are welcome. The session is £15 per person and attendees are required to bring cash on the day for Julian. The Great Brandon Bake Off

Join us for Coffee & Cakes, spirited competition and charitable fun!

The Club will be hosting its very own bake off in aid of Brandon Trust. Members are encouraged to enter their baked wares into one of three exciting categories, Rainbow Show Stopper, Cupcakes & Miniatures or Traybakes, all entries will judged by our very own ‘Paul Hollywood & Mary Berry’ with one off prizes for each category. Please email Jonathan to register your entry. Cake drop off is at 10am with the event starting at 10.30am All members and their guests are welcome to perouse and sample the entries along with a tea & coffee.

During the morning the Club will be playing host to the Banwell College Pottery Stand, selling their creative wares.In addition, The Brandon Trust are launching an EBay auction shop to raise money through sales of special, one-off and ‘vintage’ pieces. Be it clothing of a bygone era, collectible china, ornaments or genuine treasures .. if they are clogging up your attic, garage or spare room why not donate them to the Brandon Trust? You can ‘drop off’ any pre-loved items at our Bake Off day! Clear up some space at home, de-clutter and raise cash for a good cause in doing so .. it’s a WIN WIN!

Modern Medicine in 45 Minutes

Consultant ENT Surgeon Mr Phillip Robinson will be presenting "I'm Sorry, I Will Say That Again! Hearing Loss In Throughout The Ages" at our latest 'Medicine in 45 minutes' session.

Book Club July

19 July 2018

The Clifton Club Book Club meets at 2.15 on the 3rd Thursday in the month. 

In July's meet, the group will be discussing 'Sea of Poppies' by Amitav Ghosh.  Shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2008, this rollicking adventure story about colonial India is the first part of a trilogy set at the time of the opium wars.
