The Petrolheads Tour Of The Mendips

30th June 2020

On Tuesday 23rd June, eleven cars took part in the Petrolheads Mendip run in glorious weather! Duncan White planned a great route, with wonderful views and beautiful scenery that wound in and around the Chew Valley, the Cheddar Valley and the Mendips  Cars set off at one minute intervals and hardly anybody got lost!

Members enjoyed a socially distanced picnic lunch at Chew Valley Lake. Gavin managed to go one up on travelling with the kitchen sink,  and had a gas barbecue and teak table in his boot!

Cars ranged from classic Mercedes SLs to a  McLaren, a beautiful drophead  AC Ace Brooklands of which only 48 were made, a Lincoln town car, and an Alfa Romeo…With visiting Maserati at lunchtime!

Major congrats to Duncan for such an enterprising and enjoyable route, and to Pam for being a true Girl Guide by having enough chilled champers and glasses on board.  That really is “being prepared!
