Session 9:“ Bottoms Up! Cancer of the large intestine, a modern scourge” with Paul Sylvester

Paul Sylvester is a Consultant Surgeon and fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He graduated from Bristol University and completed most of his surgical training in Bristol and the South West. He spent six months as an International Colorectal Fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada and a year teaching anatomy at the University of Cambridge.

He is now a consultant Colorectal surgeon at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and the Spire and Chesterfield Hospitals Bristol. His Major interests include colorectal surgery, colonoscopy, and bowel cancer screening. He has special expertise in inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer and benign anorectal conditions. He in involved in developing research in all these conditions.

He is a keen sportsman and a regular golfer at Bristol and Clifton.
