Douglas Bonar has been described as ‘one of the most talented chefs in the UK today’. With a Michelin Award and two AA Rosettes he is also one of the worlds leading exponents of French cuisine.
As Head Chef at the Clifton Club he takes a ‘hands on’ approach, using the best local produce to create a wide variety of traditional and contemporary dishes.
Having trained at one of Scotland’s most prestigious kitchens, he moved on to The Savoy and in 1984 was voted Young Chef of the Year. Between 1996 and 2007 he ran one of Edinburgh’s most successful eateries which was voted ‘Best Restaurant of the Year’ and awarded the AA Rosettes and a coveted ‘Red M’ in the Michelin Guide.
